No Bake Cookies: Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal
My husband's dad's mom made these for my husband's family pretty regularly when he was growing up. She gave us the recipe right before we got married. They're classic. It quickly become one of our standard cookie recipes. I make these at least 3-4 times per year. They are very easy and very tasty. Enjoy!
Total cooking time: 15-20 minutes
No Bake Cookies: Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups oatmeal
Cover two cookie sheets with wax paper.
Combine the sugar, cocoa, milk, and butter in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Boil for one minute.
Add the peanut butter, vanilla, and oatmeal. Stir until just combined. Using a spoon, drop the mixture in tablespoon sized portions onto the wax paper covered cookie sheets. You should have just enough room to fit all of the cookies onto the two sheets.
Put the cookies into the refrigerator to cool. We store the cookies right on the sheets in the refrigerator, but you don't have to refrigerate them once they've cooled.
